Phil Phest: Important Info and PhAQs

What is Phil Phest?

A series of small-scale soirees & gatherings, from October 8 - 12, to celebrate the 60th birthday of
the phabulous Phil Alexander!

Why a series of small-scale soirees?

“Life is a banquet” is, after all, one of Phil’s favorite quotes. (Do you know the original source?) For this milestone year, Phil decided instead of one grand, crowded party where he would squeeze in just a few minutes with each of his guests, he’d have smaller events so the personal connection would feel richer and deeper.  All events are planned with a limit of 8-10 people.

What exactly are these small-scale soirees?

Here’s the schedule of events.  It includes meals, a theatre matinee, outings to favorite museums and other places. These are activities that Phil likes to do, and he’d love for you to be part of it. Each day is planned around different neighborhoods of NYC, to make travel & transport easier.

Whoa, this is a lot of events! Must I attend all of them?

Of course not! Think of it as an a la carte menu of PHUN!  Several meals (brunch or dinner) have been specifically scheduled before or after other events nearby, like a mini Phil Phest package, to expand the experience.  If you select more than one event, you will be asked to identify your priority in case some of the small-scale soirees face overwhelming demand. The Phil Phest Team will do our best to include everyone.

What are the fees for Phil Phest?

The Phil Phest Team has consciously selected venues at different price points. For sit down meals, all Phil Phest participants will be expected to pay an equal portion of the check. Admission fees for museums and Brooklyn Botanic Garden will apply.  For the Little Shop of Horrors matinee, a donation of $20 - $139 will be requested.  Thanks to an anonymous donor, Phil Phest can provide some “scholarships” and no one will be excluded from any event based on ability to pay.

May I bring a guest?

Yes! Please inform the Phil Phest Team prior to the event using the registration form.

Is there a gift policy?

Phil prefers presence over presents. During six decades of life, Phil has acquired more than enough novelty mugs, artisanal soaps, books he hasn’t read, and nifty kitchen gadgets. Therefore, material gifts are discouraged, unless they fall into the following categories:
  • A lovely card with a sincere note from you
  • Winning lottery tickets
  • Dark chocolate anything

Rats! I can't make it to NYC for Phil Phest!

Despair Not! On October 12, Phil will be hosting a virtual cocktail party. Remember those from the Pandie? Just sign up on the event registration sheet, and you'll be sent the Google Meet link.

PHIL-anthropy is a great way to share the spirit of Phil Phest!

Please consider giving $60 in Phil’s honor to these organizations he admires and endorses:
